| You are no doubt aware of the HIV/AIDS epidemic sweeping through much of Africa. This terrible disease is leaving millions of children orphaned. But what you probably did not know is that many children are also losing their family’s land. The reason for this injustice is that a parent’s will cannot be executed while a child is a minor. Lawyers Without Borders, in conjunction with Africare, is spearheading the Children Inheritance Research Project. This project is aimed at providing pro bono legal training and assistance to Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique to rebuild legal systems for the enforcement of wills and other inheritance contracts. |

| When you are concerned about something your government is doing it is important to let them know. When writing to your MP or your MPP it is best to send a handwritten or typed letter expressing your concerns. You should also suggest what you would like your representative to do. In addition you should send a copy of your letter to the responsible Minister as they have the power to change laws, regulations, policies or programs and need to hear from citizens directly.
If you send your letter to the House of Commons you can send it postage free.
